FlatHunt aggregated research data
Unless otherwise stated, aggregated statistics produced and published by FlatHunt Research may be quoted, referenced, reproduced and used to create charts, tables, analyses and other derived materials for research, journalism, education and other informational purposes.
This includes published aggregated indicators such as:
- median asking rents;
- rent per square metre;
- district-level statistics;
- housing-type statistics;
- budget distributions;
- availability indicators;
- aggregated historical series;
- downloadable aggregated CSV and JSON datasets.
When using FlatHunt Research data, please clearly identify FlatHunt Research as the source and, where reasonably possible, include a link to the relevant FlatHunt Research page.
A recommended attribution is:
Source: FlatHunt Research, Berlin Furnished Rental Market Observatory, [observation period or snapshot date].
If the data have been materially transformed, combined with other datasets or recalculated, this should be made clear so that the resulting analysis is not presented as an original FlatHunt calculation.
What this permission does not cover
The permissions above apply only to aggregated statistics and datasets produced and explicitly published by FlatHunt Research.
They do not grant permission to copy, redistribute, republish or create a separate database from underlying third-party listing data.
In particular, they do not grant rights to:
- individual housing listings supplied by third-party providers;
- listing descriptions or other provider content;
- photographs, floor plans or other media;
- provider databases or substantial parts of those databases;
- provider trademarks, logos or other protected materials;
- personal data;
- third-party datasets that are subject to their own licences or terms.
The underlying listing records used to calculate FlatHunt statistics are not made available as part of the FlatHunt Research datasets.
Third-party data
Some FlatHunt Research pages also visualize or reference data from external public sources. These materials remain subject to the terms and licences of their respective providers.
IBB Wohnungsmarktbericht
Selected housing-market benchmark data are sourced from the IBB Wohnungsmarktbericht, published by Investitionsbank Berlin.
Where indicated on the relevant FlatHunt Research page, these source materials are used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence.
Reuse of the underlying IBB material remains subject to that licence and its attribution requirements.
Berlin Senate parliamentary paper
Selected furnished temporary housing figures are sourced from the Berlin Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Housing, Parliamentary Paper 19/26285 (2026).
The underlying parliamentary paper remains subject to the terms of the Berlin House of Representatives. FlatHunt’s charts, interface and presentation are separate from the original document.
Berlin Open Data / Berliner Mietspiegel Wohnlage
Wohnlage information displayed by FlatHunt is based on official Berlin Open Data associated with the Berliner Mietspiegel 2026.
The underlying dataset is provided under Datenlizenz Deutschland – Zero – Version 2.0 (DL-DE Zero 2.0).
Any reuse of the underlying official dataset is governed by that licence rather than by these FlatHunt Research Data Use terms.
FlatHunt’s maps, interface, presentation and additional analysis are separate from the underlying official dataset unless expressly stated otherwise.
Provider data and market coverage
FlatHunt aggregates rental offers from participating housing providers and platforms in order to help users discover available housing and to observe market conditions.
FlatHunt Research publishes aggregated statistics derived from these observations. It does not publish the underlying provider listing database as a research dataset.
A listing may in some circumstances be distributed through more than one provider. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, FlatHunt therefore does not claim complete cross-provider deduplication.
For this reason, published sample sizes should be understood as listing observations, not necessarily as a count of unique physical dwellings.
Data limitations
FlatHunt Research primarily reflects asking rents and listing information observed through FlatHunt’s provider coverage.
The data:
- do not represent all rental housing in Berlin;
- should not be interpreted as signed-contract rent data;
- are not a substitute for the Berliner Mietspiegel;
- may be affected by changes in provider coverage and listing composition;
- may contain missing or incomplete listing attributes;
- may change as new observations become available.

Snapshots and citations
Where a snapshot date or observation period is provided, users should include it when citing FlatHunt Research data.
For analyses that need to be reproducible over time, use the dated historical dataset or snapshot corresponding to the figures being cited rather than a continuously updated live endpoint.

No endorsement
Use of FlatHunt Research data does not imply that FlatHunt endorses the resulting publication, analysis, organization, product or conclusion.
Likewise, FlatHunt’s use or visualization of third-party public data does not imply endorsement of FlatHunt by the original data provider.

FlatHunt aims to provide transparent and useful aggregated market information, but research data may contain errors, omissions or later corrections.
Data are provided for informational and research purposes and without a guarantee that they are complete, continuously available or suitable for a particular purpose.

These Research Data Use terms apply only to research datasets and aggregated statistics explicitly published through FlatHunt Research.
Other FlatHunt website content, software, branding, design and materials remain subject to the general FlatHunt website terms and applicable intellectual-property rules.
Changes to these terms
FlatHunt may update these Research Data Use terms as the Research platform, datasets or source coverage develop.
The version applicable to a published dataset or snapshot is the version available at the time of use unless otherwise stated.
